Quebec Games scores (pdf)
Quebec Games water polo games were played on Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd at DDO pool. The top teams in ALPS met the top teams in NAA.
Here's Justin's report on this event:

Once again it is time for the West Island edition of Quebec Games for Water Polo, as usually the top two teams from NAA & ALPS, in each category, will battle it out to see who the best in the west is. This year's cadet girl's teams from ALPS are Viking (Pointe-Claire) & Beaurepaire ( Beaconsfield ) who were the finalist last year, while Thorndale ( Pierrefonds ) & Valleycrest ( Pierrefonds ) will represent NAA. In the cadet boys category Cedar Park (Pointe-Claire) & Beacon Hill ( Beaconsfield ) takes on West Park (DDO) & returning pool Sunnybrooke (DDO). Continuing with its water polo success on the girls side Viking & Beaurepaire will represent ALPS, clashing against returning NAA powerhouses Glenmore & Elm Park . Lastly, the juvenile boy's category features Dixie ( Lachine ) & Beacon Hill who will attempt to sweep the boys categories, competing for NAA is Versailles ( Pierrefonds ) & Westminister (DDO).

Quebec Games always seems to provide a healthy representation of the pools and athletes in the West Island , this tournament should prove to be one of the best in the history of West Island Quebec Games.

DAY 1 – Saturday August 2, 2008

The first day of Quebec Games had the ALPS pools dominate in all categories, not one NAA pool was able to come away with a victory to make it to the championship game. In the first cadet girls game Viking downed Thorndale 10-2, the second had Beaurepaire smash Valleycrest 15-0. In the cadet boys category both Cedar Park & Beacon Hill came away with easy victories winning 10-4, and 14-1 respectively. Juvenile girls seemed to be the only group that providing some excitement. Viking took a 7-5 victory over Glenmore, while Beaurepaire outlasted Elm Park in overtime to win 8-7. Continuing with its success Beacon Hill beat Westminister 9-0, while Dixie clobbered Versailles 12-1.

With an all ALPS final it will give a heads up for most teams as they will prepare for ALPS Finals in the not too distant future, where they will most likely meet again.

DAY 2 – Sunday August 3, 2008

The finals proved to be more exciting that the cross-over matches. In the cadet girls category Viking beat out Beaurepaire for the gold medal in a 8-3 victory, Thorndale smashed Valleycrest 8-3 for bronze medal. In the boys group Beacon Hill beat Cedar Park 6-5 for the gold in close fought battle, West Park 's Alex Grillo's seven goals wasn't enough to take down Sunnybrooke as they went on to win 13-8. Viking once again showed its dominance as they beat out Beaurepaire for the gold medal 6-1, in a very exciting back and forth battle Glenmore slipped by Elm Park 10-9 for the bronze. The juvenile boys group had the biggest crowd of the day Lachine 's Dixie continued its undefeated edging Beacon Hill 7-4.

This was the first year that it was an all ALPS final. Will ALPS continue their dominance? Stayed tuned for next year's edition to find out!

And in the NAA vs. ALPS games:

Cadet Girls - ALPS won & the MVP was Taylor Vijh from Beaurepaire. Congratualtions!
Cadet Boys - NAA won & the MVP was an NAA Boy.
